HFC Thunder 05 Are 2012 Camero Cup Champions
The HFC Thunder 05 Academy team, a group of U8 boys soccer players, recently participated in the Camero Cup soccer tournament hosted by the Biloxi Soccer Club. In this tournament, this U8 team was forced to play up one year in the U9 bracket. This meant that every team they played consisted of boys who were 1 year older (and bigger!) than them! These courageous boys were not hampered by this obstacle -- rather, they accepted the challenge and WON the U9 Boys Gold division in this tournament. On Saturday morning, they played the SMSC Roadrunners and tied them 1-1. In their next game on Saturday afternoon, they beat the SMSC Vipers 4-2. On Sunday morning, they played the U9 boys from their own club, the HFC Thunder 04 Academy team, and beat them 6-0. In the championship game on Sunday afternoon, they had an opportunity to play the same SMSC Roadrunners whom they had tied the day before. This time, they beat the Roadrunners 2-0 to win the championship! Congratulations to the boys for their accomplishment and thanks to the parents who support them in this process!
